Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026 · Maintained by Meridian Trust Bank

This policy explains what information Meridian Trust Bank collects when you use meridiantrustbank.org, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Technical safeguards are described in more detail on our Compliance & Security page.

1. Information we collect

  • Account data: full name, email address, phone number, postal address and the account type you choose.
  • Identity data: an image of a government-issued photo ID and, where you provide it, a profile photograph, used solely for identity verification.
  • Financial data: deposit amounts and methods, payment proof images you upload, transfer records, balances and loan application details.
  • Support data: messages you send us through the contact form, WhatsApp or email.
  • Technical data: standard server logs and session information needed to keep you signed in and to protect the service from abuse.

2. Why we use it

  • To open, verify, operate and secure your account.
  • To review deposits and loan applications and to prevent fraud and money laundering.
  • To send service messages — welcome emails, deposit approvals, loan confirmations, password resets and support replies.
  • To meet legal, regulatory and financial record-keeping obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

3. Who processes your data

We use a small number of processors to run the service: a managed cloud database and authentication provider (account records, credentials and uploaded documents), a transactional email provider (service emails sent from our notify subdomain), and our website hosting provider. Each processes data only on our instructions. Google Translate is offered as an optional on-page translation widget; using it sends the page text to Google.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use strictly necessary cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember interface preferences. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit with TLS. Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider and are never visible to staff. Identity and payment-proof documents are stored in private buckets that are not publicly readable, and database access rules restrict every customer to their own records. Full detail is on the Compliance & Security page.

6. How long we keep it

Account, transaction and deposit records are retained while your account is open and for a period afterwards to satisfy financial record-keeping obligations. Identity documents are retained only while needed to maintain your verified status. Support messages are retained for service-quality purposes and can be deleted on request.

7. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your personal data, and you can object to certain processing. Email support@meridiantrustbank.org from your registered address. We acknowledge requests within one business day and aim to complete them within 30 days. Records we must legally retain are the only exception, and we will tell you when that applies.

8. Children

Our services are not offered to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and revise the date above. Material changes affecting existing customers are also announced by email.
