Compliance & Security
This page is maintained by Meridian Trust Bank to answer common questions about what we charge, how deposits are handled, and how customer data is collected, stored and deleted. It describes our current practices and is not an independent certification or audit report.

Fees and charges
We publish every charge before you are asked to pay it. There are no hidden or recurring service fees.
- $300 minimum opening deposit. This is not a fee. It is credited in full to your account balance once compliance approves the deposit.
- $300 loan processing fee. Charged once when a loan plan is submitted, covering underwriting and document checks. Refundable if the application is declined by us.
- No monthly maintenance fees on personal, checking or savings accounts, and no minimum balance requirement to earn the published savings rate.
- Third-party network costs (card processor, wire network or blockchain miner fees) are set by that provider, not by us.
Deposits and how they are reviewed
No account is activated automatically. Every opening deposit enters a manual review queue and is approved or declined by a Meridian Trust compliance officer.
- Accepted methods: ACH transfer, debit/credit card, bank wire, gift card, and Bitcoin.
- You receive a unique reference number and a downloadable PDF receipt the moment a deposit is submitted.
- Until a deposit is approved, the account remains in pending approval and cannot transact.
- On approval, the amount is credited to your balance and you are notified by email and in-app notification. Declines are notified the same way, with the reviewer's reason.
- If you believe a deposit was recorded incorrectly, contact support with the reference number and we will investigate.
Identity verification (KYC)
To open an account we verify who you are. We collect your full name, email address, phone number, postal address and an image of a government-issued photo ID.
- ID images are uploaded to a private storage bucket that is not publicly listable or readable.
- Each customer can only access their own documents; access rules are enforced at the database layer, not in the browser.
- Verification status (pending, approved, rejected) and any reviewer note are visible to you at any time on your verification status page.
- We do not sell, rent or share identity documents with advertisers or data brokers.
Data handling and security controls
- All traffic to this site is served over HTTPS with TLS encryption in transit.
- Account data is stored in a managed Postgres database with row-level access rules, so a signed-in customer can only read and write their own records.
- Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider and are never stored, logged or visible to staff.
- Leaked-password protection is enabled: credentials found in known public breach lists are rejected at sign-up and password reset.
- Administrative actions (deposit approval, balance adjustments, KYC decisions) require an authenticated staff role and are restricted at the database layer.
- Sensitive fields — balance, verification state and account status — cannot be modified by a customer account, only by authorised staff.
Retention, deletion and privacy requests
- Transaction records and deposit receipts are retained while your account is open and for a period afterwards to meet financial record-keeping obligations.
- Identity documents are retained only as long as needed to maintain verified status; rejected submissions are removed on request.
- To access, correct, export or delete your data, email support@meridiantrustbank.org from your registered address.
- We aim to acknowledge every privacy request within one business day and complete it within 30 days.
Fraud, phishing and vulnerability reporting
- Meridian Trust staff will never ask for your password, one-time code or full card number by email, WhatsApp or phone.
- Our only official domain is meridiantrustbank.org and our only support address is support@meridiantrustbank.org. Treat any other domain as fraudulent.
- Suspected fraud or a security vulnerability? Email support@meridiantrustbank.org with the subject line "Security" and we will respond within one business day. We do not pursue legal action against good-faith researchers who report privately and avoid accessing other customers' data.
